〈NEW YORK HAT〉 というアメリカのブランドから出ている、 ジョン・レノンが愛用したものと同じ型のビッグキャスケットです。 すごく可愛いくて、 プライベートでもよくかぶっています。 写真で見たジョンの真似をして、 ツバについたスナップボタンは外してちょっとだけ斜めにかぶるスタイルがこだわり。
The design of this bulky cap is same as the one of John Lennon’s favorite. It’s from an Amerian brand called NEW YORK HAT. I always wear it a bit shallow with a snap on the visor undone just like John.

こっちはオノ・ヨーコ風になれるサングラス。 40年くらい前のヴィンテージサングラスで、 私の好みをわかっている人が誕生日にプレゼントしてくれました。 かなりインパクトのある見た目になるので、 一人のときに使う勇気はまだ無くて（笑）。 仲の良い友達と一緒のときにだけかけようかなって思っています。
These Yoko Ono-like sunglasses are a vintage piece made about 40 years ago and was a birthday gift from a person who knows me and my taste well. I think I’m gonna wear it when going out with my friends.

音楽にハマったのは日本のパンクからで、 今はジャンルや新旧に関係なく幅広く聴きます。 家ではレコードで聴きたいタイプなので、 ジャケ買いしたり、 親から譲り受けたり、 いろいろとコレクションしています。 オノ・ヨーコやビートルズ関連のレコードも、 あれこれ買っているうちに結構な枚数になっていました。
I first got interested in Japanese punk rock, but now listen to various types of music. I prefer playing vinyls at home and have been collecting them. I’ve got many records related to Yoko and the Beatles, too.

オノ・ヨーコのポスターの中で特に大切にしている一枚。 もともと平和を訴える音楽やアート作品が好きで、 「WAR IS OVER」 という言葉も彼女のことを知る前から強く心に刻まれていました。 BiSHとしてそういうメッセージを発信することはないかもだけど、 自分の中ではこれからもずっとこの言葉を掲げていたいです。
This poster is my favorite among all the Yoko Ono posters I own. I’ve long been a fan of peace-themed songs and artwork, so the message, War is Over, was already etched in my mind before knowing Yoko.

オノ・ヨーコと出会ったきっかけの本。 洋書なので内容はよくわからなかったけど、 作品の写真がカッコ良くて衝動買いしました。
I came across Yoko Ono from this book. I didn’t understand the English contents, but I bought it for the artwork.

1964年に発表された代表作 『グレープフルーツ』。 ファンには聖書のような本なので、 どうせなら価値のあるものを手に入れたくて。
Yoko’s book grapefruit first published in 1964. Her fans treat it as a bible, so I wanted to have the rare version.

で、 見つけたのが、 直筆サイン入りのペーパーバック版。 50年前に出版された古本ならではの色あせた感じも逆に気に入っています。
And I got this paperback with her autograph on it. I also love the faded, vintage appearance of this book.

This live album of the Plastic Ono Band was first released in 1969. My favorite song from this is ‘Give Peace a Chance’.

This is my most favorite work of them. Their nudes are hidden by the paper sleeve. I aspire to do the same (laughs).

I got this Rolling Stone Issue from an online auction. It features a photo of her and her son Sean, and it’s adorable.

This official “Let It Be” tee was my first overseas musicians’ T-shirt purchase, hence why I treasure it.

『IMAGINE』 のTシャツは、 よく行く古着屋さんで見つけた80年代のオフィシャルもの。 結構高かったけど、 思い切って買いました。
I found this official “Imagine” T-shirt at my favorite vintage clothing store. Though it was pricey, I had to buy it.
- 自分を貫いて生きている人が好きなんです。たとえば、芸術家の岡本太郎とか、銀杏BOYZの峯田（和伸）さんとか。そういう憧れの対象ってずっと男性だけだったけど、女性で初めて生き様がカッコいいと思えたのが、オノ・ヨーコでした。今では人として、アーティストとして、誰よりも尊敬しています。ビートルズやジョン・レノンの音楽は普通に聴いていたので、オノ・ヨーコという名前はずっと前から知っていましたが、自分にとって特別な存在になったのは、ここ5年くらいのことです。たまたま本屋で手に取った展覧会の図録をきっかけに、その人生や表現活動を知るうち、BiSHのメンバーとして活動するなかで漠然と考えていた、自分が理想とする “強い女性像” と彼女の姿がバチッと一つに重なったんです。あと、同じ頃に尊敬する音楽業界の大先輩に、「あなたは、あなたの “YES” を見つけなさい」って言われたことがあって。その言葉の真意が知りたくて調べてみたら、オノ・ヨーコの「YES」という有名な作品が出てきたんです。それで、なんだか導かれたような気がして（笑）。そこからですね、関連するいろいろなものをコレクションするようになったのは。オノ・ヨーコから学んだのは、“当たり前なんてないんだ” ということ。それまでの私はBiSHの活動においても、ただ人から求められることをやるだけだったり、それが普通だと言われたことに対して思うことがあっても特に自分の意思を表明しなかったり、どちらかというと固定観念にとらわれやすいタイプだったんです。でも、彼女のマインドに触れたことで、そういう考え方を打破できて、自分で自分の道を切り拓いていくことの大切さに気づきました。今はまだBiSHとしても個人としても、オノ・ヨーコみたいに自分だけのレールを突き進んでいるわけではないけど、私も私なりの場所と立場で、自分の周りのたくさんの “当たり前” を壊していきたいと思っています。
- I admire people who stick to their beliefs. Though my role models were only males for quite a while, when I got to know Yoko Ono’s way of life, she became the first female figure who inspires me. Being familiar with songs by the Beatles and John Lennon, I’ve known her name for a long time. But it was just five or so years ago when she became someone who means a lot to me. I happened to pick up an exhibition catalog at a bookstore and got to know about her life and activities as an artist. Then I realized that she perfectly matches the ideal ‘strong’ woman image I had vaguely had in mind as the member of BiSH. And, around the same time, my music industry mentor advised me to find my own ‘YES.’ While looking up the meaning of her words, I found out that one of the masterpieces of Yoko Ono is titled ‘YES.’ So I thought it was destined (laughs) and started to collect various things related to her. From her, I learned that nothing can be taken for granted. Before then, I mindlessly followed other people’s directions while performing in BiSH. I seldom expressed my thoughts even when I doubted about what people referred to as normal. I used to be a person who can hardly think outside the box. But I could overcome such an attitude after knowing the mindset of Yoko Ono. She taught me it’s important to make my own path. As both a person and a member of BiSH, I’m still not able to pursue my very own path like her, but I’ll do my best to break down stereotypes around us as many as possible.
